OFFICIAL RULES

1. The Father’s Day Ugly Chair contest entry period is May 10 to May 29, 2008. Entrants must be 21 years of age or older on date of entry and must be a legal U.S. Citizen. No purchase is necessary. Void where prohibited by law. Other restrictions apply. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules.

2. Entries will be posted on the contest page at EastValleyTribune.com. Limit one (1) entry per household or email address; and only one (1) ugly chair photo per entry. All ugly chair photos submitted become property of the Tribune and will not be returned. The Tribune will have unlimited rights to use any photos submitted.

3.Entries should be submitted and digital photos uploaded online at the contest page on EastValleyTribune.com. Deadline for entries is May 29, 2008 at midnight. The Tribune and any contest co-sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, destroyed or misdirected entries. As an alternate method of entry, printed photos with the entrant’s name, address and daytime phone number will also be accepted during regular business hours at Norwood Furniture, 216 N. Gilbert Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85234 or at the East Valley Tribune, 120 W. First Ave., Mesa, AZ 85210.

4.The Ugly Chair contest winner will be selected by public voting online at the contest page on EastValleyTribune.com. Registered users ages 13 and older may vote once per day. Only online votes submitted at this site will be accepted and used in determining the winner. The voting period will be from May 30 through June 12, 2008 and may consist of one or more rounds of voting, at the Tribune’s discretion, depending upon the number of entries received. The contest winner will be the entrant whose “ugly chair” receives the most votes in the last round of voting. In case of a tie, a random drawing will be held among the top vote-getters to determine the winner.

5.The Ugly Chair contest winner will receive a gift certificate redeemable for the recliner of his/her choice from Norwood Furniture’s inventory, up to a $1,500 value. The certificate must be redeemed within six (6) months of the date of issue. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. As a condition of receiving the prize, the winner may be asked to provide valid photo identification and proof of residency, featuring the winner’s name and address as it appeared on the entry form. The winner may also be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release, and other documents, before receiving the prize. If a winner fails to sign the documents or fails to meet any eligibility requirements, an alternate winner will be chosen and the alternate winner will be subject to the same requirements. The winner will be notified by phone at the daytime number provided on the entry form, and given a deadline by which he/she must pick-up the prize or forfeit it, in which case an alternate winner will be chosen, and the alternate winner will be subject to the same requirements.

6.Registered users who cast eligible votes will be entered into a separate prize drawing for the opportunity to win one (1) of the two (2) additional prizes: a foursome of golf at Poston Butte Golf Club in Florence, AZ or a $100 gift certificate from Norwood Furniture. Some restrictions may apply to the use of these prizes. Voters will receive one (1) entry in the prize drawing for every eligible vote they cast, limit one (1) per day, during the Ugly Chair Contest voting period from May 30 through June 12, 2008. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. 7.Employees and independent contractors of the East Valley Tribune and its affiliated publications, Norwood Furniture, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. “Immediate family” means only spouses, parents and children.

8.By entering this contest, you release the Tribune and Norwood Furniture and other sponsors from any liability in connection with the use of the prizes and consent to the use of names, photographs, likenesses and biographical information for advertising and publicity purposes without further consideration.

9.The East Valley Tribune reserves the right to correct typographical or printing errors in any contest materials. The names of the winners can be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope with the request after June 23, 2008 to: Father’s Day Ugly Chair Contest, East Valley Tribune, 120 W. First Ave., Mesa, AZ 85210.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.

East Valley Tribune reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
